Your Prosperous New Year | Weekly Tarot Reading | 12/27 – 01/02

We have a very auspicious reading for you today. 

2020 has been a tough time for just about everyone. If it wasn’t illness or loss of loved ones, it was financial challenges, detours in your goals, or relationships being strained in the pressure cooker of quarantine. 

That being said, there is great news for the start of the new year!

Our first card sets the tone for this coming week. You will have a sense of freshness and clarity that may have been missing in your life for a while. 

The path will feel clear as the next step starts to unveil itself. 

It is important for you to tie up any loose ends before you can receive the yummy abundance getting ready to drop in your lap. 

Our second card, The High Priestess, indicates there is something that has been off, or you’ve been avoiding that needs a bit of attention. 

This could be distancing yourself from someone who has been putting up a facade. Or it may be courageously facing your own denial or untrue ideas. 

Whatever it may be, now is the time to wrap it up, and stand in your bare, naked truth, so you can walk forward into the new year without old stuff hanging over your head. 

Your last card is fantastic news! Family, friends, abundance, and sustainable success! The Ten of Pentacles can be summed up as a sense of accomplishment, and the kind of fulfillment that blesses you and everyone around you. 

What a wonderful way to start off a desperately needed new year!

Let’s take a closer look at what’s to come. 

#1: Three of Wands | Motivation Returns

Does it feel like you’re starting to get your feet back underneath you? Are there more options and possibilities beginning to become clear to you? 

The Three of Wands suggests after some consideration and planning, you are taking the first few steps in a fresh and exciting direction. 

You may start to feel your momentum building this week. Creativity and motivation are moving you towards a goal or idea you’ve been considering. 

A door has been opened that you may not have even known was closed. Suddenly, the energy you’ve been needing to get things done, and move life forward, is beginning to bubble up like a prosperous spring. 

If you’ve been feeling clouded, or uncertain, you’ll experience the fog starting to clear. This is a great time to do some long term planning, and set your eyes on the future. 

While you might not be able to get the whole view, it will be easier this week to connect with your intentions for this next phase. 

Use your foresight, and your excitement for your future, to affirm what you want to manifest in the coming year. 

You might write a list of the things you want to accomplish in the next month, then the next three months, and you might even start to imagine how you’d like your life to be five years from now. 

Take advantage of your momentum by putting some solid goals in place. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by what is possible if you’re willing to take whatever the next step is for you. 

There is one thing, however, that could still get in the way… 

As you’ll see in our next card, there is a misgiving, or unresolved emotional rubbish, that needs your attention before you can reap the delicious benefits of your very exciting third card. 

#2: The High Priestess | Veiled Intentions

Are there any secrets, or denied emotions you’ve been dreading to address? Has it felt like something 

has been hidden from you that’s been making you uneasy? 

I almost always interpret the Priestess in a positive light. She symbolizes the divine feminine, the unconscious, and our mystical and intuitive abilities.

However, she is also directly related to the energy of the Moon, which can have it’s shadow side. In this reading, it’s clear she is recommending a return to your inner sacred self, but is also highlighting the importance of attending to unresolved turmoil. 

Often the Priestess suggests a secret that hasn’t been revealed, or a facade you are beginning to see through. 

You might be starting to see the true nature of someone in your life. 

This could be a friend that always promises to show up, but never seems to get it together. It could also be a lover or potential lover, who seems like they are pretending or hiding something from you. 

Listen to your intuition, but also remember that your own facades and secrets are being implicated here. 

The power of The High Priestess comes from her willingness to be intimate with her emotions, her dreams, and her deep creative nature. You might ask yourself if there is anything you’ve been needing to say that you have been avoiding. 

It’s also a perfect time to reflect on any recent, big shifts in your life, which you might not have had time to process just yet. 

Delving into your process is deep, sacred work. 

The more you till the soil of your heart, by honoring your emotions, and speaking your truth – even if only to yourself – the more you will become in touch with the inherent power and wisdom that is within you. 

Attend to whatever it is that needs finishing up this week, because your next card is all about the success and abundance waiting to pour into your life. It’s time to clean up the ‘temple’ so you’re ready to receive with ease in the coming weeks.

#3: Ten of Pentacles | Fortune and Family

Will you be spending some time with family for the holidays? Can you feel the excitement of the good fortune that is headed your way? 

As you can see on the card, the Ten of Pentacles symbolizes family, fortune, and celebration. A husband and wife stand close to one another with their child nearby. An old man sits, content with his life and surrounded by his two loyal dogs at his feet. 

The old man has accomplished much in his life, and can now provide for generations to come. The security he has built, with the help of the younger generations, assures a family legacy of wealth and prosperity. 

You are entering a period of stability. After a long phase of ups and downs, success and failure, you now have a healthy plateau in which a sense of safety and ease will mark the coming period. 

Take a load off. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. 

Remember wealth is not only financial, but the moments you get to enjoy with your loved ones. You are building your life up to attain long-term success and a sense of deep satisfaction. 

It’s possible you will come into a windfall very soon, or an inheritance will make itself available to you. Let yourself receive from your elders if they are being generous with you. Remember, what you receive can also be shared with the generations to come. 

Taking into considering our first card, the Three of Wands, use this time of stability to make plans for the future. You might consider new investments, or plan out a family holiday for when travel becomes available again. 

It’s important to make these plans with your loved ones in mind, as this new wealth that’s becoming available will flow with greater force if it is not only tied to you, but in service to those around you as well. 

A New Year and A Fresh Start

Can you feel the excitement for a new year, with new possibilities? This week’s reading strikes an auspicious tone for the start of 2021. 

Our reading started with the Three of Wands, suggesting there will be a sense of clarity and momentum as you embark on new ideas and adventures. 

Use this time to both make tangible plans for the future, while focusing on, and empowering the dreams you have for your life. 

There is the energy of manifestation present throughout this reading, so take a moment to wish, dream, and put forth positive emotion into what you are creating for the year ahead. 

The second card is a strong reminder to clean up any unfinished business. The Priestess wants you to release all your hidden or unresolved baggage from the year. 

This doesn’t mean you need to create unnecessary change. Simply clear out what needs to be let go of so you don’t carry it on into the next year.
