Saying What Must Be Said | Weekly Tarot Reading | 2/7 – 2/14

By February 7, 2021 February 12th, 2021 Tarot Cards

Hello Tarot Family,

This is Jonathan with an exciting reading for your week.

It can be challenging to speak your truth sometimes, especially if it might rock the boat. This week however, the cards are asking you to stand up for yourself and be honest with what’s going on in your life.

The Page of Swords is a master communicator who says what needs saying without being distracted by the potential repercussions. However, The Page of Swords can be a little impulsive and critical.

Temperance, your second card, is a reminder to avoid extremes and remember there is a place of harmony you can find, even when life feels a little chaotic. This will help you communicate with more grace.

Temperance is also a card of blessings, which is emphasized by your third card The Chariot.

If you can find balance, The Chariot is a sign you’ll have more clarity about what you are wanting in life, which will help propel you in that very direction.

You have a very inspiring week ahead, so let’s take a look at what is to come.

#1: Page of Swords | Speaking Up

Have you been feeling the need to speak your truth? Are you ready to stand up for justice in your life and for others?

The Page of Swords is vivacious and energized. At his heart, he has good intentions and the energy to make things happen.

While it’s possible this card is referring to someone young at heart in your life, it more likely symbolizes a part of you that is capable of facing the world with truth and honesty.

When the Page of Swords is drawn, it often represents a need for new ways of communicating.

As you can see in the image, the clouds are wild, and the wind is whirling with great force. The weather seems daunting, but the page is able to cut through it with his sword of truth.

This card can indicate a possible argument, a complex situation, or something a bit chaotic soon to come. Luckily, the appearance of the Page of Swords also assures you have the skill to face these disturbances unflinchingly, and with a good attitude.

There’s no need to second guess yourself right now, or get lost in mental debates about how to proceed. This is a time to speak honestly and openly to the people around you.

There simply isn’t room for hiding or holding back. The more you keep yourself hidden, or stop yourself from speaking about what’s going on, the slower you will come to a resolution.

That being said, you don’t need to be rigid or critical with your words or stance. The Page of Swords can be overly mental, and become opinionated and judgmental. While it’s important to speak honestly, remember to stay open and receive other perspectives with grace.

If you are truthful about your own perspective and how you feel, you’ll find yourself discovering new insights and different ways to move forward without unnecessary conflict.

Sometimes what we hold back from saying, and the things we hide from others, are exactly what’s keeping us from moving forward into greater fulfillment in our relationships and work.

Being truthful, and standing your ground in a stormy moment, doesn’t have to be adversarial. As you’ll see in your next card, the balance between action and receptivity can bring about a sense of ease in your life.

#2: Temperance | Striking A Balance

Has your life been a roller coaster recently? Or on the flip side, have things felt like an empty desert? When Temperance is drawn, you are being advised to avoid any and all extremes for a while.

Temperance is one of the most beautiful cards in the Tarot deck. The Angelic being on the card is depicted in a vast landscape, representing the highs and lows of life. Rugged mountains cast sharp edges behind her, and the rich valley surrounding her is fertile and lush. These contrasting images symbolize the constant fluctuations of life.

As you can see on the card, she has one foot in a calm pool of water, while the other foot remains on land. This imagery is encouraging you to find balance, even within the twists and turns occurring around you.

Right now is a good moment for you to take it slow and easy. Don’t make any big decisions, or impulsive actions. Instead, take stock of how you are spending your time.

Ask yourself:

“Am I overworking? Do I need to be working more? Am I eating well and drinking enough water? Am I getting enough exercise, or too much exercise?”

Allow yourself a moment to weigh the different areas of your life, and assess whether you need to make any changes to bring about more harmony.

Considering your first card, the Page of Swords, you might be spending too much time in your head. This can be exciting and fruitful, especially if there are new ideas flooding in.

However, it won’t be helpful to focus your energy to the point of feeling drained. Notice which ideas you can act on, and then clear out the ideas that either need to wait, or are simply impractical at this time.

Both the Page of Swords and Temperance are great decluttering cards. Together, they are inviting you to let go of what is distracting or unnecessary.

Your next card is a master of manifestation, passion and focus. So, sift out energy sapping stuff from the important things, so you can focus on what you truly care about.

#3: The Chariot | Honing Your Desire

Is there something you are passionate about, but don’t know how to get? The Chariot is a positive indication you can achieve what you are wanting, encouraging you to follow your interests and to fight for your future.

The Chariot is a power packed card. The charioteer rides valiantly towards new adventures, guided by intuition, while grounded in the real world. The black and white sphinxes propelling the chariot, represent the conscious and the unconscious, as well as your primal instincts.

The ability to guide the primal powers is no easy task. You are being called to align your whole being, emotions, desires, and thoughts, toward your goals.

When these potent forces are all on board with what you are wanting, there is nothing that can stop you.

However, as you might know if you’ve ever worked with large or powerful animals, primal energies cannot simply be forced into submission – not without also destroying their inner beauty and fire. So, forcing yourself to do things you don’t want to won’t work in this situation.

Rather, get clear about what you are wanting, and find a way to understand the honest steps it will take. Any critical or dissenting thoughts -such as ‘I can’t do this,’ or ‘I don’t know what I’m doing,’ – are important thoughts to write down and explore.

Once you write them down, have a conversation with yourself about them. Are these thoughts true? In what ways are they correct, and in what ways are they simply getting in the way?

The critic within you has good information about what needs to change in your life, however the inner critic also tends to be sour and mean.

By having a conversation with the critic within you, you can begin to change your relationship with it.

You can also kindly, but firmly tell the critic to take a break, or go away, especially if it’s just making you feel more stuck.

The Chariot is a sign you really can get aligned with where you are going, and heroically head in the right direction. So let yourself be excited, because you are on your way to making some great changes.

Building Confidence

Your cards this week are showing up because you now have the ability to move towards your dreams with more clarity than you’ve been experiencing lately. You just need to trust in yourself, and believe you can do it.

The Page of Swords wants you to speak up, and be honest with the situations in front of you. This could be conversations with the people around you, or having a more honest conversation with yourself.

It’s wise, however, to be gentle with your words. Especially if you’ve been bottling some emotions up. Take the advice of the Temperance card, and find a balanced way to express yourself.

Avoiding extremes is important this week. Slowing down, and checking in on where you might be wasting your time, could help you find clarity about where you are going next. This will help reign in the energy of The Chariot.

As you put the attention of your mind, emotions, and will on what you are wanting, you will be re-energized with passion and purpose once again.

This is an exciting week! I look forward to hearing from you about what changes occur as you move forward.

P.S. Is there a stressful conversation you’ve been avoiding? In what ways are you not standing up for yourself? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.

P.P.S. Are you having trouble finding clarity about your direction, or what you need to let go of? If so, you can schedule a private reading with me here

    Hi Jonathan,
Well I guess this is confirmation that I have to speak up. It all has to do with my only ex lover/boyfriend. After four months of no contact, we crossed paths again this past November 2020 because he came back to our workplace (we met as co-workers). Quickly I got feelings for him again and I told him. Eventually things got intimate between us, and then he left in January because he was seasonal. Now that he was gone from our job I told him that I wanted to hang out and just spend time together. He said we would, he’d let me know but a month has gone by and nothing. 2 weeks ago while I’m away from work on vacation, he tells me he’s back to our job as part-time. I’ve been hoping that he’d reveal any feelings he has for me without me having to push, but he hasn’t, and the fact that he knows I like him and wanted to spend time outside of work yet hasn’t said anything is hurtful. I’ve been open but he hasn’t and since were going to be working together again, I guess it’s time I confront him about his feelings for me. I’m very scared to do this though because I don’t want to be rejected, but at the same time I want to explore this chance of giving our failed relationship a new fresh start, and I need his perspective. Sorry for the long reply.

    • Hey Barbie,
Thanks for sharing with us. I can understand how it can be hard to confront someone when you might not like the answer. Ultimately, as you’ve expressed, knowing one way or another will give you peace of mind, and let you move forward with him, or move on. Good luck! sending blessings.

  • Susan Tadlock says:

It was suggested that I submit in comments on the blog my concerns about an upcoming conflict so here goes. I get to talk to the bank soon about resuming my mortgage payments (they were suspended for Covid). Things have been going wrong…dog needed surgery, I have dental issues, cant take my dogs to get their yearly vet checks, trying to pack up this house and clean in order to sell, etc etc. All the time dealing with depression, anemia, and other stressor. I know what needs to be done but its like catch 22….can’t sell the house until a few things done and cleaning, cant do a great job cleaning until I can get out of the house, cant get out till I have somewhere to go, and need to sell house to get the money to move.
    Fun, huh?

    • Hey Susan, this sounds very challenging. I’m sorry for your current struggle. It’s possible you are overwhelming yourself, and thus feeling even more trapped. I sympathize, as it feels like no where to go. My recommendation is to take one thing at a time. What can you do now, and what needs to be handles first. Put the rest aside, and focus on one thing at a time. You can do it! sometimes it looks way smaller if we can simplify down to one task at a time. Thanks for reaching out.

  • Yvette says:

Your readings are always on target. I really need to find balance in my life right now. Life is a little chaotic for me at the moment between family. I pray for grace and clarity in the days ahead. Thank you.

  • Marija says:

    Pozdravljeni
ker mu niso dani pravi argumenti.
    Hvala

    • Pozdravljena Marija,
Blagoslov.

    Hello Jonathan,
    Your readings are amazing.
Tomorrow I change flat and move in at my partner’s place, the relationship has been a rollercoaster though. He is used to live alone and doesn’t really like commitment.
I was the young taking the initiative so far but I fear a possible reaction tomorrow when he will see my 2 suitcases ready to “occupy his territory”. Anyway I know I had to try no matter what. And if it doesn’t work at least I won’t have regrets.
He is a bit younger than me.
    Your tarots are very inspiring.

  • ingrid seals says:

Totally agree with you again Jonathan.
I dislike arguments, so people (men!) think they can mow right over me, thinking I am easy.
I calmly spoke out today against any unrealistic propositions and voila`,…. now feel tons lighter.

  • Linda Gudrunardottir says:

Thank you Jonathan, and you’re absolutely right. Eleven years ago I lost everything because of a job that put me in danger. Because of my security and consideration with other people I have never found the courage to talk about it. I lost everything because of this, including my kids, which broke me down into million pieces. Part of me wants to fight for justice and part of me just want to leave it all behind, go somewhere where there are no triggers and no reminders of my past, and start all over from scratch. I’m not sure if I gain anything from speaking the truth as people often prefer the comfort in the silence and opening up might just get me more alienated from people around me. I’ve lost faith in the system and people’s genuine kindness. Thank you for the opportunity to share.

    • Hi Linda, thank you so much for sharing. This is a common thing in our society, where something very challenging doesn’t have a place to be heard. But it’s crucial. You might try speaking it to something much bigger than yourself, something that can truly hold the enormity of your experience, and can take the volatility or emotionality that might arise. By this I mean God, Spirit, mother nature, or whatever suites your predilection. Honestly, finding the space to get very quiet and still, and then begin to let it out could be very helpful. Once you start letting it out, follow the thread of the emotion. Say whatever comes to mind, or just make sounds that match the feeling. Follow the thread wherever it goes: anger, sadness, frustration. Give yourself permission to be as loud, quiet, vulgar etc as your body/mind needs. Let your body move, shake, whatever comes up. Write me via email if you want further details. This can be very therapeutic, however it can also be scary, and dangerous if you’re not particularly grounded. Counseling can be very helpful, and I recommend you have a strong support system particularly if you choose to start unlocking this cage. Blessings love.

  • Becky says:

Yes, these cards are beautiful and have a voice of their own. There r things that need to be said. It’s finding the right time to do so. It will be done with integrity and balance. Patience is key for me right now.

  • Jasmine says:

    Good morning,
Johnathan is always on point as to what is going on in my life and where I need to focus my energy, I look forward to his emails all the time just for confirmation. You are a blessing.

  • Akshara Chauhdry says:

I am living in an extremely dysfunctional relay for the last 16 years and don’t see a way out. I need to calm my insecurities and plan to move forward.

  • Leonida Gamboa says:

Your reading is so accurate. I am in that stage right now. I don’t take orders from anybody. I am my worst critic and, I am very much aware of it. But I am on my way towards putting a balance on the way I am thinking and doing things. I will be there.
Thanks, Jonathan. You are the best.

  • Kandra Garza says:

I am beyond amazed at how on point every single read is!! You are a true messenger for the divine. I do mean you are 150 % accurate. Always comes in my email and I catch the subject line and then something takes place in my life and then I read the email. And for example my 14 year old son and I have had a serious rough patch and I am now living with my son and my exhusband and its a very slippery slope that I have been stuffing my thoughts opinion and emotions. Things needed to be said and it came out for my son tonight. I was so overwhelmed by the need for calm and clarity and acceptance. Spot on with all 3 cards. Thank you for bringing me messages of hope and abundance! I am so excited to know I am in the right direction!!! So much peace obtained with every read!! Blessed be!!!

    • Hi Kandra, I’m so happy the readings are landing so well for you. It warms my heart to hear your experience. You are so aware! May you find the right words, and the right actions to move forward with grace. Blessings love 🙂

  • Henri-Valentijn says:

AS life goes on Jonathan dear, as the cards do speak and giving the line of which I am in the middle. So I do go ahead to bring the made plans to life and fully structure them. The obstacles are dealt with and that delivers me satisfaction on the path of life I self-assured am on. Although within all the present restrictions the world is literally in its for all keep the head up high and in all confidence be open for what comes. Especially the guiding is amazing and precise. So, I am thankful for all of your readings as received. As the old Egyptians already knew, all is written in the destination plan. The Tarot speaks, time will tell and the choice is made! Thank you wholeheartedly

  • Ahabwe says:

How I love your reading. O am always looking forward to them. They always speak into my situation. They’ve guided mea lot. I have a lot I unsaid. I fear hurting people. Let me speak out this week.
    Ahabwe

    • Hi Ahabwe, thank you for your kind words, and I’m happy the readings reach you in a good way. Perhaps starting with saying what needs to be said out loud to God or Spirit, while you are alone. Teach yourself to speak your truth first, and perhaps move the more intense emotions by saying whatever comes while you’re alone. That way you clear some of the more intense emotions, before bringing your words to another. With love – J

  • Janice Bryce says:

I have had some very good cards lately. I am a Wiccan so I find it easy to understand those readings I like to compare with what I have seen and almost always the cards are the same. I have met someone recently I saw him in my dreams but he was also in my Tarot cards you see everything is connected I will never learn everything that is out there in my lifetime but I will learn as much as I can. I look forward to my next reading and thank you. Blessed be

  • Tisatri says:

Last months full moon brought a major conflict between myself and a close male friend. It took me a week to figure out what was going on, and I was being misjudged the whole week! I finally worked out that he had taken a message, I had sent to cheer him up, the wrong way.
We are trying to get back to where we were, but the misunderstanding and misjudgement that followed has hurt me deeply. I know I need to say something, but I worry because of how wounded I am.
“Your perception of me, is a reflection of you”
Is a favourite of mine, but gives little comfort.

    • Hi Tisatri, I’m sorry this misunderstand you had with your friend has caused pain and distance between you two. I think there is truth in the quote you wrote. Perhaps there is work to be done with forgiving yourself, and forgiving him. I know that sounds trite and cliche, but often when we are hurt or misunderstood we subtly put up daggers and defense to protect from more hurt. The softening must come from letting the hurt parts of yourself know you will protect them, that they are safe. There will likely be pain and sadness beneath the protection. Letting this pain move will maybe create a space where you can speak from the heart with your friend. Let me know how it goes. Sending love – J

  • Blessing says:

It’s been a journey for me. I’ve always known that I need to move from where I am at the moment but I never had the courage to do it but now It’s all different, for once I actually want to stand up for myself and speak my truth.

It’s time that I stop letting things pass for the sake of peace, I hope I speak my truth this week and finally face what has been bothering me.

    Love and light.

  • Donna says:

I’ve been reading your weekly tarot readings for weeks and I’m amazed how much they hit home with me
I am experiencing a situation in my life that is giving me unassurance and leaves me feeling uneasy but at the same time I’m driven to it maybe hoping for something that can never be
This last reading has said to me I need to address it once in for all . It’s hard for me
I just felt I needed to say that
Thank you for your precise readings
They help me to realize I’m not wrong in my thinking

    • Hey Donna, thank you for sharing with us. My good friend always says that truth comes from contact. In other words, we can make up many stories when we are not being forthright or honest in our relations. Not that we are lying, but rather we’re not speaking what is in our minds. Sometimes it’s much better to bring it to the person and see, than to try to figure it out in our heads or from subtle cues. Blessings Dear, let me know how it all goes. — J

  • Elijah says:

Yes. I have been having some serious issues with my relationship with my mom for a few years. She seems to have a way of bringing out the worst in me, or so I let her. Our relationship is quite bipolar, inconsistent, and toxic by nature. I have so much emotional pain that I don’t always know how to proceed. I am in the dark on how to healthily, constructively cope. And even though I wouldn’t hurt a fly, I fear for what I may do if provoked too horribly. I have good self-control, but every blue moon, I am not so sure. I just got down arguing with her and I have some very frustrated, mixed emotions. On the one hand, I am glad I got everything off my chest and how I expressed gratitude when I ended the conversation. On the other hand, I really just added fuel to the fire and this irritates me to my essential core. I think I would benefit best if I could let go of all that no longer positively serves me. Yet, I can say that every conflict has brought me closer to who I was always meant to be. There is certainly a method in the season of madness.

    • PK says:

So sorry to know this. It is very difficult indeed.
There is a beautiful Hawaiian Prayer for Forgiveness is called “Ho’oponopono” (pronounced HO-oh-Po-no-Po-no) which goes like this:
“I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you.”
Think of the person you are having conflict with and say this prayer thrice.

It has been found that it works even when you pray for others where you are not directly involved. For e.g. a friend has a conflict with his/her colleague. You could just say this prayer to them.

More about it can be found here:
      https://graceandlightness.com/hooponopono-hawaiian-prayer-for-forgiveness/#:~:text=The%20ho'oponopono%20prayer%20goes,That's%20it.&text=need%20to%20hear%3F-,%E2%80%9CI'm%20sorry%2C%20Please%20forgive%20me%2C%20Thank%20you,and%20universal%20these%20words%20are.

I have tried this. It feels lighter after saying this prayer.

I wish you all the best!

    • Hi ELija, thank you for sharing, and for speaking your wisdom. Family conflicts can be particularly challenging. It sounds like you are learning a lot from the process. I always find it is helpful to take space in order to find balance before being in conversation with someone who could trigger me. The more you can open within yourself, in other words soften into your true feelings and accept them, the easier it will become to talk with someone challenging. Often we put up defenses in order to survive an argument, but sometimes showing the hurt that comes from a situation is more powerful. Being vulnerable with someone takes a good deal of courage, often it is more courageous than pushing back against them. Let me know how it goes. –J

  • Maria carolina says:

My dear Jonathan, you always right guiding the next phases. I do feel I have something in my throat that just cannot make me move ahead, but from other side I keep telling myself, there is nothing to say about because that person doesn’t care about me.. so is like why I should care when other doesn’t? Will it be my release, maybe? .. I have journaling and burning gas letters, hopping to find relief, and even some days are great , others like today, feelings don’t allow me to breath.. I hope this pass soon. Thank you !

    • Hey Maria, it could be that speaking your truth to this person leads to nothing. I don’t know. I do think that getting it all out in the supportive power of Spirit could be helpful. I know it seems silly, but perhaps find a place where you are alone and can spit, curse, yell, cry, shake scream to Spirit. The infinite can take it, and you are unconditionally loved. Sometimes we need to give 100% acceptance to what needs to come out, that way your emotional body knows you love and trust it. Pour yourself out, then see what comes next. With love — J
