Feeling All of the Feels | Venus in Cancer Horoscope

By August 8, 2020 Astrology, Horoscope

Hey it’s Angel!

How are you feeling this lovely day?

Whether good or bad, you’re probably FEELING more than usual.

This is mainly the result of a recent (and very overdue) shift of Venus changing signs. We’ve finally left the dizzying information whirlwind of Venus in Gemini that started April 3rd, and moved into the warmer, friendlier, and emotionally driven sign of Cancer.

When Venus went retrograde, she stayed in Gemini the entire time. This gave us triple the dose of Venus in Gemini that we are used to, and sent us into relationship overdrive. We were busy evaluating how we communicate, relate to others, and how we “do” relationships in general.

So if you’re feeling all of the feels today, get ready. The feels are just starting to show up. Venus in Cancer is giving us an opportunity from now until September 7th to clear our emotional slate and begin a new romantic cycle with a fresh start.

Hopefully, by the end of this forecast, you’ll feel empowered to make informed decisions in matters of the heart, even under such an illogical yet deeply important influence.

Leaving Uncertain Relationships Behind

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, and at its core, it represents the alchemy of intellect and communication. Gemini LOVES ideas, and to share ideas. Gemini also loves to examine both sides of a situation logically, and isn’t opposed to changing sides if there is enough evidence to support it. It embodies the energy of advertising, media, and all forms of communication, digital or otherwise.

Venus, on its own, connects us with pleasure, our core values, and what is truly important on both a personal and financial level. Venus influences how we relate to others more than any other planet. Venus’ recent retrograde in Gemini started off being rapidly connective, sweeping us away in the fast paced nature of Gemini.

Mental activity and the need to communicate peaked for several weeks. Collectively, we saw an explosion of arguments over conflicting values, paired with extreme social discord. Everything from protests to riots for social change were a direct reflection of Venus retrograding in Gemini.

In our personal lives, we had major revelations about our relationships, our values, and what we will and will not tolerate. This paradigm shift in relating brought on several new opportunities. Doors opened to new worlds, and new ways of being. Many existing relationships found themselves at a crossroads, while new relationships formed, crashed and burned in record time.  Most new connections formed during this 4 month period did not make it, while others found innovative ways to use technology to connect.

Our time with Venus in Gemini provided a huge education in how we relate to others, bringing us the lessons we needed to grow.

However all of this growth took place on an intellectual level, because the one thing Venus in Gemini is not … is in touch with her feelings.

Venus in Gemini loves expansive, broad communication on a surface level, while Venus in Cancer wants to go deep and FEEL the relationship, not communicate about it.

A Soft Descent From The Mind Into The Heart

Have you felt it yet?

Venus in Cancer has come in like a wash of relief, giving us the emotional space to relax a bit and unwind. The frantic, busy feeling of Venus in Gemini has passed, and is now being replaced with the reflective, home-centered, protective love of Cancer.

When it comes to forging a new path for our relationships into the future, this shift into Cancer is our first real step. Everything we’ve experienced during the Venus in Gemini timeline has been a stepping stone to lead us into our hearts, where our true power lives.

Cancer is the only sign ruled by the Moon, which represents our inner selves. This part of ourselves that is so personal, we cannot truly share it with anyone. Our subconscious, our psyche, and all of our emotional fluctuations are embodied in our Moon sign. When any planet transitions into Cancer, the energy of that planet is infused with a warmer, softer, and sometimes vulnerable overtone. Venus in Cancer wants to protect it’s precious emotional resources, and get comfortable in a safe environment, where gentle, pleasurable feelings can be explored.

In Cancer, Venus can finally feel again. This placement allows her to connect to the deepest aspects of herself and what she truly needs to be safe and emotionally secure. She becomes the divine mother, and nurtures her loved ones with all of her heart.

On a collective level, we will begin to see people speaking out. Long standing social injustices are starting to be felt on an even deeper level. You can expect the people in your lives to be a little touchier than normal. We are all figuring out how to start feeling again after such a mentally stimulating time in Gemini.

In your personal life, you may be experiencing some of the things you did while Venus was in Gemini coming back to haunt you. What first seemed logical and correct may now seem cold hearted, ruthless or over calculated. If you’ve experienced discord with anyone over the last several weeks, now is your chance to connect your heart and express how you really feel. If you feel like you owe someone an apology, you’ll have the chance to really make it meaningful during this time. If not, then you can take solace that the connection was never heart-felt in the first place, and is better off not being in your life.

New Path, New Relationships; A Brand New Chance At Love

Has anyone new come into your life over the past few days?  Are there new love interests on your horizon? Does your connection feel different than what you’ve been used to for most of this year?

Oftentimes, when Venus changes signs, you may meet someone that embodies the flavor of the sign. This person may be more emotionally grounded. They may be deeply interested in home and family. You may feel strangely familiar with this person, and find yourself admiring them for how they take care of themselves, their property, and their community.

If you are single and meet someone who rings the “Venus in Cancer” bell, pay attention to what is possible in that relationship. This person (or someone like them) may be the companion you are looking for. If you’re in a relationship already, and meet someone that embodies this energy, see what you can learn from them to integrate into your own relationship. It’s never too late to bring in a fresh dose of love into your partnership, if you choose.

Whatever your situation, just remember to take it slow. Cancer is very protective, and under its influence, Venus wants to protect the heart at all costs. Don’t rush any new relationships (or change to your current relationships) at this time. The hermit crab will come out of its shell when it feels safe, and not a moment before.

Also, be mindful of a tendency to overreact. Emotional sensitivity is common now. You may become so overwhelmed with feelings that you experience an emotional breakdown of sorts. If this happens, feel deeply into any unmet emotional needs you may be becoming aware of, and see if you can create an environment where you can really let your guard down and relax. Any meltdown you may go through is part of your heart cracking open, so you can break through to the next level of what your heart is capable of.

The good news? Not only is true love possible with Venus in Cancer, but it is much easier to get over past love during this time. The watery influence of Cancer can wash away heart ache very quickly now if you are willing to feel your feelings all the way. You’ll be surprised by how nourishing it can be to fully let go, especially now.

This is not a time to jump up and be driven, so if you are feeling less motivated than lately, don’t worry – there’s nothing wrong with you. You are just tapping into the energy of slowing down in your body, and feeling all of the feels. You will know when to act during this transit because you will feel it in your heart — and when your heart leads, then nothing can get in your way.

Have faith in yourself.  The Universe has your back, and so do I <3

With Love,

Angel Adams

Good Evening I’ve been feeling this for a few days I might’ve over reacted to a love interest I told him off and blocked him I want more out of the relationship he wants to remain friends

I love how you explain the reasons why things are the way they are. It helps make sense of why people are the way they are, and it’s good knowing it’s only temporary. I’m not in a relationship (over a year now) but just recently started to entertain the idea. I am moving an hour away to start a new job. Maybe there’s someone there? Who knows. Thank you for showing up in my email, I always look forward to hearing from you.

  • I Love your readings, They are so close to what is happening in my life. I have been dating a fellow for 3 years, and it isn’t going any where. Our personal feelings and beliefs are so far apart, a marriage is out of the picture. We do enjoy each other’s company on a purely platonic level. (Because of his beliefs). We both have realized, we are not in love, What keeps us together is the Social Dance clubs we belong to. Dancing is our passion and we are the best. I”ve told him until we break off the relationship, neither one of us will ever have a chance of finding a compatable mate. I want to be loved and special with a companion for the rest of my life. (He) and I could never be married as we argue constantly, mostly about the lack of attention and warmth I want. Our relationship is more like brother & Sister, or if he was female, we would be best friends. He doesn’t want to let me go, and I am just as guilty, because without him I have no one, and with the Virus lockdown, it gets really lonely. Thanks for the help,Yvonne

I’m not certain what’s come over me these last few days. It’s a warmth of releasing something that I just don’t know what it is I feel free. I’m glowing with a new sensation of calmness and feeling extremely well. I can’t recall having this type of feeling but I pray it stays permanently.

  • M says:

I have been seriously planning on ending my marriage in favor of the idea of a Gemini past love, during the Venus in Gemini period, when I also could only see the faults in my marriage, but then something changed yesterday & I realise that I just need to nurture the relationship I’m in & Venus in Cancer should be able to help me do that.
Thanks for this, it all makes sense.
